Good evening from Scotland and thank you for your acceptance to the group.

I have only ever dreamed of owning a Ferrari since age 8, however many years further down the line and after many hours of hard work I am now the proud owner of a 1998 456M GTA.

The car has come with a wonderfully complete and detailed service history and I look forward to many adventures and advice from fellow owners.

After a few weeks of getting my head around the fact of it being in my possession I have taken it to a local specialist for a look over and currently await it's return so I can enjoy a few trips throughout the Scottish "summer"!

 

I plan to drive from Scotland  to Maranello at some point and would welcome any advice or tips from members that have made the run? (I was there last in 2003, driving from Sienna in a hired Renault Clio to watch a joint 1/2 for Ferrari at the Italian Grand Prix in the museum).

 

I look forward to being part of this great club and all it brings.

Congratulations on your beautiful Ferrari 456M GTA!

What color is it? Is it Blu Tour de France?

 

As we go to Maranello once or even twice a year, we can certainly share some tips:

- Both Ferrari museums, in Maranello and Modena, are must-sees.

- Ask your local Ferrari dealer to book you a tour of the Ferrari factory.

- Also go see the Pista di Fiorano; you might even catch some interesting Ferraris driving on it at that time.

- There are many must-visit restaurants linked to Ferrari, including Cavallino and Montana (and many others if you need recommendations).

- There are also plenty of other places to visit nearby, such as the Maserati, Lamborghini, and Pagani factories and museums, the old Modena tonw city center, ...

 

Enjoy your trips throughout the Scottish "summer", and please share with us some pictures and your first impressions behind the wheel!

Welcome aboard Sandy and congratulations for your beautiful 456M. Wishing you years of enjoyable and troublefree miles with it.

Whereabouts are you in Scotland?

Feel free to share your experience down the line and ask for technical tips when/if needed as there are many experienced 456 owners on here who will be glad to help. Those cars can suffer from poor cooling performance as they get older and a few tricks can save you a lot of hassle/money/headgaskets.
