Hi,

I'm interested in buying this car. It was for Sale in Belgium, but the owner has no history of the car.

the seller provided me this link with pictures and the contact info of the garage who did the last service in 2015.

The seller is the 3rd owner, maybe someone from this formum was one of the previous owners.

The garage confirmed the last service (including distribution belt change), but had no history of the car.

- any idea were the picture are taken ?

Thanks and all info is more then welcome!

Hi. The car was registered in department 69: around Lyon.

If it was sold new in France, then it should have yellow front lights (fog lights and retractable lights), and an additional Pozzi identification plate, next to the factory ID plate in the front compartment.

VIN & Black plate indicates that this car should allocated new to Switzerland / Scandinavian market. Or any other market where car need cat

The "Mondial T" was the first ferrari for which ALL VERSIONS OF THE CAR had a catalysator, irrespective of the market of destination.

Only the first batch of 40 cars was produced without cats; being slightly more powerful, these are rather sought after.

Hi,

I'm also interested in buying a Mondial T, and I have contacted the owner to ask him if it was possible to send an expert to check his car (located in Spain).

His answer was "NO I prefer the "old school" ..."

And later, I have found for the same car:

Here for 22,5 K€ http://occasion.321auto.com/325560778-ferrari-mondial-t+3+4+qv.html

Here for 31,9 K€ https://www.autoscout24.fr/offres/ferrari-mondial-t-3-4-qv-essence-rouge-7b870868-c48e-643c-e053-e250040a19b6

Huge difference ! It sounds a bit strange ...

Indeed, when I contacted the seller as well he suggested to visit Sardinie and inspect the car myself.
Of course there was a lot of interest in the car but he could hold the car for me if I would transfer a small amount of money as pre-payment.

I was talking to him on a Wednesday telling him that I would fly to Sardinie on Sunday, so the transferred money would not be on his bank account before I would arrive.

On Saterday morning he texted me that the car was sold the same morning.
A week later the car was back on the internet (autoscout24.be) for 11.000€ more. I replied via other mail address and received the same info of the car : perfect condition, bla bla bla, currently in Sardinie, ..... bla bla bla.

You should never ever transfer any money to an individual for a car you haven’t seen. This story of a car priced below market, located abroad is probably a scam. Don’t make a fool of your self..

To be clear, I never had the intention to transfer the money. I told the seller that I would take the risk of being sold before I would arrive.

I toke the risk and lost 82 € for rebooking my ticket from Sardinie to Milan (for busniess). no harm done.

The "owner" told me the car was visible at "Coruña" ... not Sardinia.

He sent me pictures of "his" car with the same VIN number (see below). So 1 VIN for 2 red Mondial with different interiors ...

He was also able to produce a "carte grise" (I have obfuscated personal details).

Guys...if I may?

Do not loose too much sleep over that car. These days, it is a buyer's market, and that mean that you hold the cards, not him. This is not a rare car, but a "Mondial T" coupé, Rosso corsa over beige leather: there will be others like that.

If we were talking about a rarer version, let's say for instance a 3,2 Cabriolet Blue Sera / Beige; or Blu Chiaro Crema, then I could understand a bit of persistance, but in that case for a car that is standard, well...forget it and wait for the next.

Now, I can accept that the price seems attractive (whatever price we do consider...), BUT: with Ferraris, when it is too good to be be true, then there is a 99% probability that...it is not true.

If the conditions do not seem to be transparent, if the guy is not 100% dependable, then forget it and wait for the next.

It is much better to pay full market price and have a deal that is satisfactory.
